ORGANISING CARLISLE CLEANING STAFF

RMT helpline 0800 376 3706 :: march 2011 :: RMTnews 29 RMT launched a campaign to organise workers employed by Carlisle Cleaning and Support Services in Manchester last month. The launch coincided with a Vulnerable Workers pilot education course being held in the city. Assistant general secretary Pat Sikorski said that the start of the organising campaign was a great success with over fifty workers joining the union. “I spoke to many Carlisle workers and heard their concerns. “There is no doubt we have a lot to do but getting organised is a vital start “We now need to ensure regular activity is sustained throughout all the different contracts.
